VALLEY HOTEL - BIRMINGHAM

Valley Hotel sits just south of Birmingham in the homewood, area. It’s a must stay.

What’s the area like?

If you’re from Nashville, it’s something of a cross between 12 South and downtown Franklin.  If you’re from Portland, it’s like 23rd avenue meets downtown Lake Oswego.  It’s quaint, but poppin’.  It’s close to town, but has a unique luxe flavor floating through the air.

The feeling was still slow and steady, the kind you’d expect in the “south”… but there was still a fresh energy to the people and restaurants.  Honestly, it’s the kind of place that would be really unexpected to move to… but I would totally live there if I ever gave up the music thing entirely and got out of Nashville!

Valley Hotel hosts an insane restaurant; a great wine list, an incredibly diverse but well-thought-out menu, and excellent cocktails.  Anytime I see oysters on the menu, I know that they’re going to have carefully made their wine list, and it definitely rang true here.

Kristie and I had a queen room and actually, I wouldn’t have wanted to have two rooms.  For a Mama’s Weekend Away… it was actually so perfect.  The rooms were clean, fresh, and the beds were so cozy.  The hotel is quite literally in the most perfect location for walking to the shops.  The shops? So adorable.  So many of the fun colors and prints I’ve been into lately.  Boutiques on blast!

Both Kristie and I highly recommend Birmingham + staying at the Valley Hotel.
